Bad things happen when good people stand by and do nothing.

Support the Underdog

We need help to protect people from corporate abuse in the home building industry and ensure that homes don't leak, foundations don't fail, and families aren't forced into foreclosure and financial ruin.

How you can help:

If a new non-profit group can take on lobbyists for the $35 Billion Texas homebuilding industry and win with no money, imagine what we can do with an energized grass roots movement and grant funding.

Texas politics behind home building is like LemonGate.

Do you have a Lemon?

We want new and newly-remodeled homes to be properly engineered and built by licensed builders and with regulatory oversight, where builders are held accountable to homeowners who have fair access to legal remedies if disputes arise. With a Lemon Law for Homes, builders who can't fix serious defects in a reasonable time would be required to buy them back.

Do you live in a Defective or Crooked House?

Thankfully this is a Playhouse and not a real one. There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile.

He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.

He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,

and they all lived together in a crooked little house.

Volunteer your time. Let us know if you would like to be a public spokesperson for the HOT cause, and we'll equip you with presentation materials, messaging collateral and supporting information. If you want to share your skills in other ways, we can always use computer, communications, office and lobbying assistance. Our offices are just three blocks from the State Capitol so we can keep track of public hearings and rush over to participate or meet with legislators.
